What doesn't export from FocalPoint?

There are certain financial activities that do not export from FocalPoint.

Payables and Cash Dispersements

There is no functionality in FocalPoint to record invoices owed to your vendor or make payments out of FocalPoint.

Inventory Adjustments

Certain inventory adjustments in your merchandise file do not export from FocalPoint. There are many different ways to increase or decrease your inventory levels other than selling and expensing inventory described in the previous sections:

Inventory adjustments can be made and no doubt will be made while you are taking inventory. Rental and merchandise count sheets, and corresponding rental and merchandise adjustments can be performed by going to '5' in the main menu "Inventory Functions".

You can transfer merchandise to rental, which decreases your merchandise inventory and increases your rental inventory.

Finally, you have the ability to simply go into the merchandise file and change your quantities.

While inventory adjustments using the above three methods are not exported from FocalPoint, these adjustments are absolutely tracked in FocalPoint. To run a report for these types of adjustments, use the inventory tracking report (B-4-F from the main menu). This report will help you create Journal entries in your accounting software to account for inventory adjustments that do not export from FocalPoint.

Time Clock

Time clock entries do not export from FocalPoint. As your personnel is "punching in and out", FocalPoint is recording and tracking this information. A time clock report is available to you to summarize this information for any period of time. However, this information will not export from FocalPoint. The time clock report should be used to record payroll information in your accounting software.

Purchase Orders

Purchase orders do not export in the manner described in this section. PO's can be synchronized with QuickBooks or Sage 50. To learn more about this, see section named Synchronizing PO's with QuickBooks and Sage 50.
