Merchandise items in a multi store environment need to have merchandise detail records established for each location that stocks the merchandise items. To add merchandise detail records for merchandise items, go into the appropriate merchandise item, proceed to the merchandise detail tab, and click on the add new store detail record button. Each store can maintain its own merchandise detail information like bin location, average cost, reorder points and reorder quantities and, of course, quantity on hand.

 

If you are a single store and you are adding stores to your business, please contact Visum if you would like us to mass copy all of your merchandise items to another store so that both of your stores carry the exact same items.

 

You cannot sell a merchandise item that you do not stock from another store. If you try, you will be warned that you cannot do so. if you are trying to sell more of a merchandise item then you currently have on hand, sell the quantity you wish to sell, agree to the overbooking message, then communicate with another store to initiate a transfer of more merchandise items to your store.
