Objective:

Make sure the allowance numbers are correct per your policies.

If you have other interval types, add them.

Intervals are assigned to Rental Rate Codes and used in rental calculations to bill for additional usage charges. For example, you rent a skid steer loader for 1 day, and within that day you allow the customer to put up to 8 hours on the hour meter. The customer returns within the 24 hour rental period, but there are more than 8 hours on the hour meter. Your policy may dictate that the customer should be charged additionally for the extra hours used, even though they returned the item on time. Intervals allow you to control these charges, and are calculated automatically during the rental contract process.

During the installation process, hours and miles are set up for you.  You may need to adjust the allowances, and you can make either of these preset intervals inactive if they are of no use to you.

*Description

Describe the type of interval. This description will be used as verbiage on rental documents.

*Type

Choose Increase or Decrease from the drop down list. This field controls whether to calculate interval charges based on increases in the interval (hours or miles, for example) or decreases in the interval (thousandths of inches for diamond blades, for example).

In the example at the top of this page, 8 hours were allowed on the hour meter. These types of allowances are entered in here for Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Minimum and Weekend periods. ZERO is an acceptable entry here, if you charge for EVERY mile, for example.
